Dr. Joel Galos is a Lockheed Martin endowed Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo.
His teaching and research interests are centered on the selection, design, analysis and optimization of engineering materials, especially polymer composites.
Dr. Galos previously worked as a Research Fellow at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. There he performed research on lightweight automotive structures in collaboration with Ford Motor Company, USA and CSIRO, Australia.
Dr. Galos also previously worked at Granta Design (now Ansys Materials), a spin-off company from the University of Cambridge that develops software for material selection and materials data management.
He completed his PhD in Engineering at the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight at the University of Cambridge.
