MATERIALS ENGINEERING (MATE) @ CAL POLY SLO

OVERVIEW

As an educator, my passion is the creation of meaningful engineering programs that engage and challenge students. My objective as an educator is to ensure that students are prepared to apply engineering concepts to develop novel solutions to challenging problems facing society.

Learning can be greatly enhanced using experiential learning, practical demonstrations, and case studies. With colleagues at Granta Design (now Ansys Materials) I have created teaching resources that are widely used in a variety of engineering courses at universities around the world. The popularity of these resources underlines the need for real-world examples in the classroom. In contributing to these resources, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Prof. Mike Ashby who is widely regarded as a world leader in materials engineering pedagogy.
